Early Saturday morning RCMP apprehended Steven MacPhee in a wooded area in Fairview ending a search that began when he left the Hillsborough Hospital last Wednesday.

Queens District RCMP with the assistance of the police dog service located MacPhee in the early hours of Saturday morning.

RCMP said several tips were received within the last few days that provided “great assistance in the search and safe recovery of MacPhee.”

The public had been advised not to approach him, but police said there was nothing to indicate that the 45-year-old MacPhee was dangerous.

Fairview is on Route 19 near New Dominion.

Steven is harmless just a few problems needs the proper help and that's not on PEI. the government should put some money to good use build a better facility for people not riverside hospital. Steven is way to smart to be in that place. The government would rather waste the money on stupid things .good luck Steven and take care.

They are telling you not to take any action if you should meet this guy....it's only common sense....how is that irresponsible ?If he was dangerous they would tell you, anyway this gentleman is now safe..and that's what we want to hear.

It's good to see that the Guardian updated this story to include the sentence below. "The public is advised not to approach him if they see him, however, police say there is nothing to indicate that MacPhee is dangerous" It was kind of irresponsible without it especially in light of events in Moncton.
