This is a very trying evening in our community, please remain calm but vigilant. I am confident that the RCMP will soon restore peace and order.

Sad day for the families of the fallen and injured. I know there are always a few people out there who wish death on us because of their extreme views, but thank God that most people out there really do understand what we do for them. To those who support us, we pray for your safety as well as the members of the R.C.M.P. Please pray for a speedy end to this mess before more lives are lost.

sadly this is what we have to look forward to. our kids are not going to be safe. due to nuts like him. but i wonder how brave he really is when they catch him i'm sure he will cry for mommy. or be a coward and kills himself. as he is a coward to kill a police officer while he is till in his car. but i think he is a out of the area, he had time to get to a car and leave the area. but he is not done killing. and to think he will want to be protected by the law. Justin if you or any of your friends you are a coward love to see you in a real war where they are shooting back at you. coward and wimp guys like you make real mature adults sick.

We understand your rage, but please just be anguished for now. My prayers and sympathy for the victims and families and for Mr. Burke and especially his family. The hell they are going through doesn't need such sentiments as from the ilk of you.

One look at his Facebook page and it's obvious he's mentally ill. I don't understand how his friends and family could not have known something like this was going to happen and gotten him some help.

As a kid I joined Scouts and learned to appreciate the importance of respecting the state -- Canada as a nation, the crown and the institutions like police and military which represent and protect our society. I don't understand these lunatic narcissists who hate authority and think they have the answers. I hope the RCMP catch him. Sympathies to the families of the fallen officers who died trying to protect the innocent.

You're under the illusion that you and all of us are protected by constitutional rights. You and I have no more than this individual has. You can't take away what doesn't exist. Wake up! This is the sick product of oppression and will become more rampant as we slide down to the abyss. We are to blame. Losses will be had, which ones can we live with?

Truth Seeker. if he is taken alive he must be protected no harm can come to him if he breaks a finger nail his lawyer will say it was done by the police. and his lawyer will say that he was on drugs and did not know hat he was doing or he was abused as a child so he can not be held responsible for the murders. the laws are wrote to protect the guilty. you take a child molester he is protected from the rest of the guys in prison why let them look after him. we have to start thinking of the VICTIMS to hell with the criminals. but we are in for more then this as we come towards WW3. wait and see.

my heart goes out to the families of the police officers and that the wounded officers pull thru. getting closer to pei. but now i'm sure people will be saying they feel sorry for the shooter he is innocent, he was on drugs etc. but just think they gave there lives to protect all. and you look at one pic the officer was shot while still in his car. that means the guy is a COWARD and anyone who thinks he is innocent needs him to visit there house and have a coffee. sick sob. may God be with all the police that is there. and thank you for protecting us all. and to think if that happened here all he/she would get is a few days in jail just like the girl that was charged with murder then dropped down to jay walking.
