Lennox Island woman seriously injured after being hit by tractor trailer

BLOOMFIELD CORNER - A 28-year-old Lennox Island woman has been airlifted to Queen Elizabeth II Hospital in Halifax with serious injuries after being struck by a tractor trailer here Saturday.

RCMP said the woman is now in the hospital’s intensive care unit and that her condition is unknown.

Prince District RCMP officers responded to the report of a pedestrian being struck by a tractor trailer at 11:30 p.m. Saturday.

The collision occurred near the John Deere dealership in Bloomfield Corner.

The woman was taken to Prince County Hospital before being airlifted to Halifax, while the driver of the truck was uninjured.

Prince County RCMP, with the assistance of a collision analyst, are continuing to investigate the collision.
