A new report says Tignish is a community in crisis and immediate intervention is required to stem the tide of young people leaving the western P.E.I. community.
TIGNISH -- The community council in Tignish decided during its monthly meting this week not to proceed with its application for town status. That decision follows an April 23 residents meeting on the proposal.
Eighteen residents in addition to councillors attended the special meeting and the sentiment expressed was that residents wouldn’t have a voice on municipal matters if Tignish became a town.
