More flooding and washed out roads may be in the offing for Prince Edward Island.
Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for Prince County beginning after midnight. Rain, at times heavy, is expected and the frozen ground has a reduced capacity for absorbing the amounts in the forecast.
A low-pressure system over Maine will move south of Nova Scotia today, says the Environment Canada Weather Office. The system will remain almost stationary on Thursday, delivering up to 30 millimetres of rain to Prince County, as well as periods of snow mixed with ice pellets Thursday afternoon.
The forecast calls for periods of rain for Queens and Kings counties.
Environment Canada meteorologists will update the warning as required.
