Fire on Norwood Road started on outside wall of building

The Charlottetown fire department was called to a fire at an apartment on Norwood Road shortly after 9 a.m this morning. The fire started on the outside wall.

Residents of the apartment got out safely and no one was injured. Firefighters were able to put out the blaze.

Shelly Kay, a resident of the building, said she had just arrived home when the smoke alarm went off.

"I thought it was a fire drill or something. It took us a few minutes to get out."
