Pickup truck, tractor with snowblower collide on Blue Shank Road

Single-path cuttings with snow whipped by wind contributed to a head-on crash along the Blue Shank Road Thursday afternoon.

East Prince district RCMP arrived at the scene in Wilmot Valley just before 4:30 p.m.

Kensington fire department assisted with removing one person from the wreckage.

A pickup truck had collided head-on in a narrow cutting with a farm tractor fitted with a snowblower that was travelling along the road. Two people were injured and taken to hospital but injuries are not believed to be serious, said RCMP Constable Gabriel Letourneau who attended the scene.

"The Blue Shank Road has been pretty bad the last few days, and the snow had narrowed down the road to just one lane," he said.

"The thing to take away from this would be that if you see one of those white-outs coming, slow right down as best you can," said Letourneau.
