A 40-year-old Charlottetown man is facing numerous charges after a break and enter that occurred at a business on Brackley Point Road early Saturday morning.

The man, who also had two outstanding warrants for his arrest prior to the incident, is now facing charges of break and enter,  fleeing police in a stolen vehicle and breach of probation.

Charlottetown police said they received word of the break in shortly after 3 a.m.

“He was located not far from the scene but he refused to stop for police,” said a police spokesperson.

The spokesperson said police apprehended the man when he got out of the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot.

The man’s prior arrest warrants included a theft and drug-related offences.

The man was remanded in custody and will be having a court appearance for a show cause hearing on Tuesday.
