Julie Lynn Gaudet charged with aggravated assault, breach of probation

Const. Markham Long of Charlottetown Police Services escorts 34-year-old Julie Lynn Gaudet into provincial court Wednesday.

A 34-year-old Charlottetown woman has been charged with aggravated assault after a man was stabbed in the city Tuesday afternoon.

The man, also 34 years old, was sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital with serious injuries.

Charlottetown police say the man was stabbed at a residence on Palmers Lane at about 3:57 p.m. Tuesday.

Deputy Police Chief Gary McGuigan said today the accused and the victim were known to each other.

He said the two apparently became embroiled in an argument that escalated to the point of violence.

The injured male was transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and admitted for serious injuries. No update was available this morning on his condition.

Julie Lynn Gaudet was charged with aggravated assault and breach of probation in P.E.I. Provincial Court this afternoon. She was remanded into custody until a show cause hearing Friday.
