Scales of justice
A Charlottetown woman who allegedly robbed a city convenience store using a needle will stay in custody until her case is dealt with.
Allison Ruth MacKenzie, 20, appeared before a justice of the peace Friday for a show cause hearing to determine if she should be kept in custody.
A publication ban prevents the release of any details that were discussed during the hearing, but the justice of the peace did agree MacKenzie should remain in jail until her case is dealt with through the courts.
Charlottetown police allege MacKenzie robbed a Needs Convenience store around 2 a.m. Wednesday using a needle.
An information filed with the court alleged she fled with $553.
MacKenzie’s next court date is scheduled for Feb. 20.
