Canada's Best Value Inn, Charlottetown
Charlottetown police have arrested a man after following tracks from an armed robbery that took place at a Charlottetown motel in the early morning hours Sunday.
Police say a man entered Canada's Best Value Inn on 20 Capital Drive armed with a metal tool and demanded money from the clerk. The robber then fled after receiving an undisclosed amount of money.
Charlottetown police were able to set up a perimeter and followed a set of tracks in the snow, where they arrested a man on the Confederation Trail near Belvedere Avenue.
Troy Douglas Carragher, 38, will apear in P.E.I. Provincial Court Tuesday for a show cause hearing.
Carragher has also previously been charged with an unrelated theft, for which he will appear Feb. 18.
