Some members of the UPEI womens hockey team try out the new outdoor rink.

The one good thing about the recent bitterly cold temperatures is that outdoor rinks are sprouting up all over the place.

UPEI now has one between the W.A. Murphy Student Centre and the Kelly Building.

Cornelia Geib, Emma Martin, Kiana Strand and Teagan Pringle, members of the UPEI womens hockey team, were some of the first to lace up the skates and try the ice. It was a bitterly cold day Tuesday so the outing was rather short.
