Just when Islanders were getting used to the spring-like weather.
Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for Queens and Prince counties for tonight.
The Weather Office says a low-pressure system will track south of Nova Scotia tonight and bring rain to Prince Edward Island today and tonight. The Island is expecting about 5 mm of rain today, fog patches and a high of 2C.
Temperatures this evening will drop to below freezing over Prince and Queens counties and cause the rain to change to freezing rain for several hours.
As the low pulls further east overnight, the freezing rain will change to flurries that will persist until early Friday morning.
