Driver was not injured but Corolla extensively damaged

ROXBURY — West Prince RCMP are reminding motorists to be cautious while travelling on roads in the area this morning as a thin layer of ice has formed on some roadways.

Police responded to a single-vehicle rollover along Route 12 in Roxbury around 8:30 this morning. Const. Greg Thomas said a 2005 Toyota Corolla sustained extensive damage when it left the road and rolled. The lone occupant, a woman in her 30s, escaped injury. A passing ambulance stopped and examined her but she did not require treatment, Thomas reported.

The officer said road conditions contributed to the rollover, which occurred just after the northbound car exited a slight curve in the road.

A sand truck was on scene moments after the collision.
