Charlottetown police have charged a 21-year-old city area man with robbery and assaulting a police officer following an incident early Sunday.

A police spokesman said they had received a complaint concerning a possible robbery on Turtle Lane.

When police arrived they were informed that a man attempted to steal an Xbox from a residence there.

That same man, when leaving the area, threatened to rob a taxi driver using a needle.

When police were attempting to subdue the accused he bit one of the arresting officers on the hand.

The accused was jailed at the Provincial Correctional Centre and will be appearing in provincial court at a later date.

It's great the police can charge someone when the assault/bite them... Too bad health care workers can't do the same when they are bitten by a pt...

Why do you think that you can't charge them?
