Confederation Bridge

The Confederation Bridge is now open to all vehicles after high winds caused restrictions on the bridge at about noon on Monday.

The restrictions were lifted at about 3 p.m.

The Environment Canada forecast calls for winds from the southeast increasing to 50 km/h, gusting to 80 late this afternoon.

The good news is that the Environment Canada Weather Office has ended its freezing rain warning for Prince Edward Island.

A low pressure system over Southern Quebec is tracking northward, pushing a strong warm front across the region today. Very mild air behind the front is bringing rain this afternoon. The forecasted high temperature is  5C -- that's plus 5.
