A special weather statement for all of P.E.I issued by Environment Canada says periods of freezing rain likely on Monday morning.

A low pressure system will approach the region late Sunday night and is likely to bring periods of freezing rain beginning early Monday morning for Prince Edward Island before a changeover to rain later on Monday morning. The more difficult issue at this time will be to determine the duration of the freezing rain.

Specific details on precipitation type and amounts, timing and temperature trends will become more clear as the situation evolves tonight.

The public is advised to monitor future forecasts and warnings as warnings may be required or extended.
