A 59-year-old St. Felix man will appear in provincial court Feb. 27 to answer drunk driving charges after he failed a breath test New Year's Eve.

West Prince RCMP members responded to the report of a suspected impaired driver on the Cascumpec Road at about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

"The RCMP thank responsible Islanders who report suspected impaired drivers which increases the likelihood of police stopping a tragedy before it happens," states a news release from RCMP.

"Calling 911 and providing the location and direction in which a suspected impaired driver is heading, along with any other identifying information such as licence plate, make model, and colour of a vehicle is a huge contribution towards keeping our roads safe for everyone."

Great work by the RCMP and all Municipal Police Agencies in their efforts to rid our highways of Impaired Drivers. A big thanks to all people who are calling 911 when they suspect an Impared Driver. Law Enforecement cannot do this alone and are very grateful to all who are calling them.
