The Kings District RCMP are requesting the public's assistance in locating a vehicle involved in a hit and run collision in Montague Monday night.

At 10:30 p.m., a silver Acura RSX traveling on Queens Street Extension was struck by a car which failed to stop at the stop sign on Maple Street. The two female occupants of the Acura were not injured, however the vehicle sustained significant damage and had to be towed from the scene.

The other vehicle fled from the collision scene without stopping and was described as a dark coloured, four-door vehicle, similar to a Honda Civic. A police report says the vehicle should have damage to the passenger side, starting at the front corner, and going back along the side.

It is believed that there was more than one occupant in the vehicle that left the scene.

Anyone having any information about the driver or vehicle that left the scene of this collision is asked to contact the Kings District RCMP at (902) 838-9300 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS where people can remain anonymous and possibly qualify for a cash reward of up to $2,000.

i am sure the RCMP will find the person but i'm he/she was drunk. they will have better luck then s'side police finding he/she that took out a stop light on water street. but i'm wondering if the person has been found but has power to get them out of trouble and on PEI that can be done.
