A 48-year-old man will face charges related to possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking after RCMP executed a search warrant at his Albion Cross residence early today.

Members of the Kings District Street Level Drug Unit were assisted by uniform members from the Kings District RCMP in conducting the search. A quantity of hydromorphine and oxycodone were seized during the search.

The accused was arrested at the scene and later released and will be appearing in court in January 2014.

“The misuse of prescription medication such as hydromorphine and oxycodone is behind a significant number of crimes not directly related to drug misuse, and the apprehension of those trafficking in these substances remains a priority of the Kings District Street Level Drug Unit,” an RCMP news release states.

Great to see .. Now lean on him hard to get him to rat out his source ... These pills are destroying young peoples lives.. Stiffer jail time is needed like 2 years for first offence 4 years for second offence and so on ... These dealers are the scum of the earth so treat them as such ... I have family that are going through pill addiction and it's the most terrible drug out there .. It changes them as a person ... Suicide seems to be the only way out for some .. So sentence these scumbags to federal time

great job RCMP. but i know it is hard but we need to get the BIG guy and hit him hard in fines and jail time. not the little guy. but to me the law protects the big guy as he has the money to buy his freedom.
