Charlottetown man facing drug charges after incident at Murphy's Community Centre

A 28-year-old Charlottetown area man was charged with assault with a weapon, resisting arrest and possession of marijuana for the purposes of trafficking following a disturbance Friday night at Murphy's Community Centre.

A spokesman for Charlottetown Police Services said they responded to a complaint at that facility at 11:45 p.m. and arrested the accused shortly after their arrival.

The man was jailed at the provincial correctional centre and will be appearing in provincial court at a later date.

No injuries were sustained as a result of the assault.
