Summerside police trying identify driver in two hit-and-run accidents

Police were at the scene of a second hit and run accident Thursday night involving the same vehicle. After colliding with another vehicle a Ford Eagle demolished a traffic light standard at the intersection of Notre Dame Street and Water Street. 

SUMMERSIDE – Summerside police are looking for the driver of a 2011 red Ford Edge involved in two hit-and-run accidents Thursday night.

The driver of the Ford failed to stop at the scene and continued to Water Street where it went east and struck and destroyed the light standard at the intersection of Harvard and Water streets. The driver also failed to stop at this scene.

Police said they have a suspect vehicle in this matter and are attempting to identify the driver at the time of the accidents.

The investigation is ongoing and police are attempting to obtain video footage that exists of both accidents. Anyone with information in relation to this investigation is asked to call Summerside police at 902-432-1213 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
