Dozens of Prince Edward Island youngsters got some early marathon training this weekend at UPEI.
The Kids Spud Run saw children, as well as many parents, participating in the two lap run at the Alumni Canada Games track on Saturday.
The free run, hosted by the P.E.I. Potato Board, saw two heats. One was designated for kids aged 6-14, while the other was for children five-years-old and younger.
Apart from getting some fun exercise, all runners got a completion certificate, t-shirt and official race bib.
The run is part of the P.E.I. Marathon weekend. The marathon is being held Sunday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
