A 62-year-old Fredericton man faces an impaired driving charge after being picked up by Charlottetown police early Saturday morning.
Police were patrolling the area of Queen and Grafton streets when they observed a vehicle run a red light at 2:20 a.m. Saturday.
Police stopped the vehicle, arrested the driver and sent him to the Provincial Correctional Centre. He will be appearing in Provincial Court at a later date.
Charlottetown Police Services responded to 157 calls for service over the weekend and issued tickets for 63 violations of the Highway Traffic Act and 10 tickets under the Liquor Control Act.
