A 29-year-old Kingston woman who seriously injured a man in the parking lot of the Cymbria Lions Club this past April when she pinned him between two vehicles is going to jail.
Nora Lee Noonan was sentenced Friday in P.E.I. Supreme Court to serve eight months in the provincial correctional centre for impaired driving causing bodily harm.
The victim suffered a fractured femur, a fractured orbital bone and facial trauma when Noonan backed across the parking lot and pinned him between the Ford F-150 pick-up truck she was driving and a mini-van.
He subsequently suffered bowel and intestinal damage as complications from surgery.
The man's wife suffered less serious injuries.
The lower of Noonan's two breathalyzer readings that day revealed a blood/alcohol level almost double the legal limit.
Supreme Court Justice Benjamin Taylor also prohibited the accused from driving for two years.
