Margaree River, Inverness, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia
SYDNEY — The body of fisherman from Prince Edward Island has been recovered in Nova Scotia waters.
RCMP in Inverness confirm that the salmon fisherman whose body was found last night in the Margaree River was from P.E.I. but they are not yet releasing his name nor the community he hails from.
Police say the 70-year-old man had been fishing with a group in Cape Breton earlier in the day when he went off on his own and was last seen at about three in the afternoon.
The man was reported missing in the evening when he didn't show up at an arranged meeting place. Police and ground search and rescue were called and the man's body was found in the Margaree River.
