The case of a 58-year-old high school youth worker charged with sexual exploitation and drug trafficking has been adjourned to Oct. 28.
Legal counsel for Arthur F. McGuigan requested the adjournment during an appearance before Provincial Court Judge Nancy Orr on Monday.
The defence is still awaiting disclosure materials from the Crown.
Responding to questions from Orr concerning the delay, Crown Counsel John McMillan told the court these were very serious allegations and a very thorough investigation was undertaken.
Orr imposed a ban prohibiting the publication of the name of the alleged victim of the sexual exploitation charge.
McGuigan was not present in court.
When the matter returns to court, McGuigan will be expected to elect his mode of trial.
