A 45-year-old Charlottetown woman was arrested early Saturday morning after assaulting another area woman.
Charlottetown police received a complaint regarding a disturbance on Queen Street near Richmond Street at 3:14 a.m.
Upon investigating, police determined a 49-year-old woman had been assaulted by the 45-year-old.
The accused was jailed at the Provincial Correctional Centre.
The victim did not require medical treatment, said Police.
Police also arrested an impaired driver on Passmore Street Saturday morning.
Police received a complaint from the public at 4:36 a.m.
After patrolling the area, police arrested a 34-year-old Cornwall man for impaired driving.
The man will appear in provincial court at a later date.
“Charlottetown police would like to thank the public for their assistance in keeping our roads safe. Charlottetown Police Services encourage the public to report any instances of impaired driving,” said a press release from city police.
