RCMP in Prince Edward Island are asking those looking for yard sale bargains this weekend to also keep an eye on the road.
The yard sale, which runs today and Sunday, is a treasure hunter’s dream with the highest number of registered vendors in the event’s 16-year history.
“We actually have over 150 vendors this year,’’ says Sylvain De Lafontaine from the Plough the Waves Centre here. “That’s 40 more than last year.”
Apart from many vendors, the event also draws a large number of traffic of Islanders and tourists alike going through the many sites.
RCMP are the travelling public to watch for pedestrian traffic and to pull off to the side of the road if attempting to look through a vendor’s items.
“Do not come to a stop on the highway to try and view goods for sale,” said Cst. Jamie Parsons in an RCMP press release.
More details are available online and in the yard sale booklet available at local stores.
