Two Prince Edward Island men are facing charges related to possession of child pornography.
The charges come from two separate investigations by the RCMP internet child exploitation unit on P.E.I.
On Sept. 10, RCMP conducted a search of a Cornwall residence.
A 22-year-old Cornwall man was arrested at the scene and officers seized a computer and other items related to the investigation.
Charlottetown police assisted in the investigation.
In a separate investigation, RCMP searched the residence of an 18-year-old Stratford man.
During the search, officers seized computer equipment containing child pornography.
Both suspects will appear in provincial court on Nov. 4 to answer charges of possession of child pornography and making child pornography available.
An RCMP press release stated officers will continue working towards identifying and charging those who prey on children.
“Often our police agencies are partnering together in order to keep up with the technological advances of criminals and it’s necessary to continually adapt our methods to catch offenders and protect our children,” said the release.
Members of the RCMP technical crime unit and Queens District officers assisted in the investigations.
RCMP said anyone with information related to child exploitation should not hesitate to contact their local police agency or provide information anonymously through P.E.I. Crime Stoppers.
