RCMP look over a car involved in a fatal collision on Meadowbank Road Monday.
MEADOWBANK - A 67-year-old New Brunswick man was the victim in a fatal single-vehicle crash this afternoon, says RCMP.
RCMP said the crash occurred at 1:20 p.m. on Route 19 in Meadowbank.
The man was the lone occupant of the vehicle, which was travelling southbound.
Police said a preliminary investigation revealed the man had overtaken and passed another vehicle when he lost control of his car.
He then struck a ditch, which caused the vehicle to roll.
“At which point, the driver was ejected from the vehicle,” said RCMP.
A section of Route 19 was closed for an hour and a half following the crash but has since been re-opened.
RCMP said the name of the deceased is not being released pending notification of next of kin.
