There was a brief power outage for about 1,800 home in Charlottetown on Friday.
Kim Griffin, a spokeswoman for Maritime Electric, says the power was off from 1:02-1:12 p.m.
Despite heavy winds across Prince Edward Island, Griffin said the problem was not weather related.
"There was a transformer problem at Pownal Street," added Griffin.
There were reports of other short, scattered outages across the Island, believed to be weather related. However, Maritime Electric had no reports of other outages.
