A snowfall warning has been ended for all of Prince Edward Island today.
Environment Canada's 11 a.m. forecast has improved dramatically, calling for just five centimetres of snow and ending all warnings.
Many Island businesses and offices have already closed for the day. All P.E.I. civil service offices, Veterans Affairs Canada, UPEI, and Holland College have closed operations for the day.
Snow started to fall across the province shortly after 6 a.m. this morning and became heavy with reduced visibility before 8 a.m.
Environment Canada issued a warning at 5 a.m. that significant snowfall was expected across the province today.
And even more good news is that another snowstorm expected to hit the region Friday has now been downgraded to 40 per cent chance of some light snow but windy as that system tracks farther south and east of the Maritimes than first thought.
