ALLISTON - Kings District RCMP have identified the 83-year-old woman who died following a two-car collision near Peters Road here Sunday afternoon.

Mary Jackson, of Church Street, Murray Harbour, died in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Charlottetown several hours after the crash which occurred shortly after 2 p.m. March 17 at the intersection of Route #4 and Peters Road Route #324 near Murray River..

An eastbound vehicle failed to stop at the stop sign and struck a southbound vehicle on the passenger side, said police.

Jackson was the only person in her car. The driver of the other vehicle, a 49-year-old Valleyfield man, and passenger were both transported to hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Police said they do not believe road conditions or alcohol contributed to the cause of the collision.

when: i know the intersection well, it is safe, read the article again someone didn't stop, pretty obvious the accident is a result of someone not obeying traffic laws! roundabout's aren't safe if one drives through the wrong way!

    When

When are they going to do something with that corner . I made suggestions that wouldn't cost that much to goverment three years ago , now a death . If the records were checked , you would find that there has been a terrible amount of serious accidents at that intersection in the past . Shame on the DOT for not correcting this . I guess it's Kings County so it doesn't matter . This intersection needed correction far more than Pool's Corner needed a roundabout .

The poor soul. May she rest in peace. And its good to hear the others weren't hurt too badly. It's pretty sad all around.
