I am 37 years old I personally at one point and time 9 years ago smoked weed and hash it did not lead me to the gate of other drugs. I was fortunate, for I have seen many friends (most)shall I say and family members get addicted to pain killers and it was not due to weed or hash basically due to the over load of perscriptions being written out by DOCTORS yes doctors are by far the worst drugdealers out there for it is LEGAL for them ta pollute the streets with these pills that are forever at an alarming rate ruining the lives of MANY.....Focus more on the more serious drugs like the opiates(which are government supplied) and figure out why they are so readily available on the streets. Think about that.......

Great job! I know the person who was caught in this case and he has been selling drugs for years and years, when bill kays talks about grandma being abused by the police he is neither realistic or sensible. This drug dealer was a main dealer at this end of the island and has supported many habits for along time. Hopefully there are more dealers in line for a bust. Great job!!!

Silly is just plain silly. How can we justify wasting our tax dollars chasing people for weed and hash? How can we justify the loss of a policeman's life because he was killed even by accident on one of these stupid raids? Now who is the bully in the room .., grandma sitting there smoking her joint or the assault team that just burst through her door, throwing her to the ground, putting their knees to her chest, cuffing her, processing her, putting her through the legal system, and then taking from her, by means of fine, the pittance of a pension she is living on? I am not for drugs but I know the difference between a harmful drug and a a benign drug. Most of our drug laws were brought in as a protectionist mechanism to safeguard pharmaceutical profits. Big pharma lobbied Ottawa to have the laws changed to protect their profits and their agenda. I still maintain that the biggest drug dealers in Canada are the pharmaceutical companies. Only pharmaceutical drugs may be prescribed to take in Canada, so first big pharma manufactures the poison, gets the MD's (pushers) to tell you they have the treatment for you (not the cure), and then they have the police and the courts as enforcers. Sounds like MAFIA to me. What do you think?

I am sorry Sgt. Dave Thibeau but a pound of hash will not disrupt the drug trade in Kings County. You and anyone else that thinks that is crazy, the war on drugs dose not work but it keeps rcmp jobs around i guess is why sgt, dave what ever his name is will try to glorify taking a pound of soft drugs off the streets. When in reality all he they did was take some poor guys hash, and anyone else looking will find it in kings county or any other county on pei. I can see police going after coke and pills but why keep spending money we don't have on weed busts which everyone knows should and probably will be legal soon anyways.

This bust is just to make the RCMP look like they actually did something while they ignore the real drug dealers.

Wouldn't make a difference how long he stayed. He would probably stop selling anyway since he got caught and who cares its just harmless hash anyway.

Wow, what a relief! There's a couple of ounces of harmless hash off the streets. This is crazy! Why are you going after small time hash dealers. The RCMP need to get off the pot and start going after the real criminals. What a waste indeed!

Good thing these dangerous drugs are off the streets. Oh wait... What a waste of time and taxpayers money. Do something useful with your time, RCMP.

Are you for real? Illegal drugs are Illegal drugs.. last time I checked Hash was illegal? This is a gateway drug for some, and can easily be escalated to more serious stuff, I say good work! Make it noted that Police are shutting down illegal activity in PEI! I'm going to assume that it would be o.k with you if your kids smoked up in front of you/in your home?

@ not a waste of time. Alcohol is a gateway drug to but I'm sure you don't care that people are using that and just because someone says this is a waste of time doesn't mean that they would be okay with themselves smoking it or their children smoking it!
