A snowfall warning has been issued for Prince County on Wednesday by Environment Canada.

The warning was issued at 4:30 a.m. today which calls for 15 or more centimeters of snow to fall tomorrow in western sections of P.E.I..

Lesser amounts of are expected in Queens and Kings Counties where 10-15 cms. of snow are expected Wednesday.

New Brunswick and westerns sections of Nova Scotia are expected to bear the brunt of the late winter storm developing off Long Island, N.Y.

A low pressure system developing south of Long Island this morning will push slowly northeastward and is expected to move into the Gulf of Maine tonight then track over Nova Scotia on Wednesday. Snow ahead of the system will begin late overnight. The greatest amounts are expected over Prince County with 15 centimetres forecast for that region Wednesday.

Tonight

Cloudy. Snow at times heavy beginning before morning. Wind northeast 20 km/h becoming east 20 gusting to 40 after midnight. Low minus 8.

 

Wednesday

Snow at times heavy ending in the afternoon then cloudy with 60 percent chance of flurries. Amount 15 cm. Local blowing snow in the morning and early in the afternoon. Wind east 20 km/h gusting to 40 increasing to 40 gusting to 60 in the morning then becoming southwest 30 gusting to 50 late in the afternoon. High plus 1.

A mix of sun and cloud. Low minus 5. High plus 5.

 

Friday

Snow. Windy. Low minus 3. High zero.

 

Saturday

Snow. Windy. Low minus 2. High plus 1.

 

Sunday

Cloudy. Low minus 1. High plus 1.

A mix of sun and cloud. High minus 6. UV index 4 or moderate.

 

Tonight

Increasing cloudiness. Snow at times heavy beginning before morning. Wind becoming east 20 km/h after midnight. Low minus 9.

 

Wednesday

Snow at times heavy changing to rain showers or flurries in the afternoon and ending in the evening then cloudy with 40 percent chance of flurries. Snowfall amount 10 to 15 cm. Local blowing snow in the morning. Wind east 30 km/h gusting to 50 becoming south 20 in the afternoon then southwest 30 gusting to 50 in the evening. High plus 3.
