Charlottetown Fire Department

The Charlottetown Fire Department is reminding the public that on Sunday, March 10, clocks will need to be adjusted to “spring ahead” one hour for Daylight Savings Time.

The fire department is encouraging residents to use Daylight Savings Time as a special reminder to change the batteries in smoke alarms and update or install new smoke alarms.

A spokesperson for the department says smoke alarms are critical for fire safety and can help prevent fire-related injuries or even death. For more tips on fire prevention and fire safety, visit: www.charlottetown.ca/fireandlifesafetyeducation.php.
