MONTAGUE — Loyal customers are having trouble rolling up the rim here this week.

That’s because noses are red and fingers are just too frigid to accomplish the feat at the local Tim Horton’s in eastern P.E.I.’s largest town.

“I hope it’s just a malfunction and not the new heating policy,” said one loyal Hortonite gathered with a bunch of friends Tuesday for a coffee.

“It’s too cold to take our coats off,’’ said another.

The D.P. Murphy Inc.-owned Montague facility just completed a three month $400,000 plus rennovation, and while some customers say the new front doors are causing a draft, the wall thermostat was sitting at a frugal 59.

“I like the new design,” said another customer. “But I wish it came with heat.”

Customers have raised the concern to store personnel this week and an employee acknowledged concerns have been passed on to proper company authorities.

“If this keeps up, we’ll have to order Iced Capps to get warm,” said another long-time patron.
