LOWER MONTAGUE – A 26-year-old Lower Montague man has been arrested and is facing charges following a search of his residence Tuesday evening.

The man, whose name has not been released, is facing charges of possession of a controlled substances for the purpose of trafficking.

Kings District RCMP say they seized more than a half-pound of marijuana during the search.

RCMP Staff Sgt. Dave Thibeau says the seizure of both illegal drugs and prescription pills are becoming the norm with most drug warrants the Kings District RCMP execute.

“In almost every search we execute the dealers are in the business of selling both illegal drugs and prescription pills,” Thibeau said.

Members of the Kings District street level drug team executed the warrant on the residence in Lower Montague. As a result of the search, police seized more than half-pound of marijuana, hydromorphone and Oxycoton pills, scales and cash.

Police say citizens are encouraged to report any drug activity to police at (902) 838-9300.

Anonymous tips can be sent to Crime Stoppers by calling toll-free 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

I love reading these comments from people that feel sorry for the the "Poor" Drug Dealers, I would love to see them all locked up.... and confronted by all the Mothers that their drug dealings have affected family members!! Obviously none of you have been there or suffered from the effects that drugs do to families!! Kudos to the police lock these Scum Bags Up!!

why is this news, poor guy is a minor cog in the drug trade, most likely paying for his own smoking habit. waste of tax money paying for the police to watch the bottom of the barrel.

Leave the poor dope smokers alone, and crack down on the Drs. who over-prescribe the so many pain meds that end up on the street.
