LOWER MONTAGUE – A 26-year-old Lower Montague man has been arrested and is facing charges following a search of his residence Tuesday evening.
The man, whose name has not been released, is facing charges of possession of a controlled substances for the purpose of trafficking.
Kings District RCMP say they seized more than a half-pound of marijuana during the search.
RCMP Staff Sgt. Dave Thibeau says the seizure of both illegal drugs and prescription pills are becoming the norm with most drug warrants the Kings District RCMP execute.
“In almost every search we execute the dealers are in the business of selling both illegal drugs and prescription pills,” Thibeau said.
Members of the Kings District street level drug team executed the warrant on the residence in Lower Montague. As a result of the search, police seized more than half-pound of marijuana, hydromorphone and Oxycoton pills, scales and cash.
