ALBANY – Charges have been laid after a collision here this morning sent three people to hospital.
RCMP Sgt. Paul Gagne said Thursday afternoon the driver of one of the vehicles involved in the crash has been ticketed for driving without due care and attention.
Initial findings indicate one car rear-ended another car which then collided with the oncoming SUV. Damage to the involved vehicles was significant.
The drivers of the three vehicles were taken to Prince County Hospital with non-life threatening injuries following the accident on a straight stretch of Highway 1A shortly after 7:30 this morning.
The crash, just north of the Albany interchange, shut down the highway for a few hours while RCMP investigated the cause and crews cleaned up.
The three injured, one man and two women were the only passengers in the vehicles - two cars and an SUV.
The RCMP has stated that the weather was clear at the time of the crash and is not believed to have been a factor.
