Charlottetown police have charged a 48-year-old city resident for assault with a weapon following a stabbing incident this morning.
The assault arose from an incident at approximately 7 a.m. on Kent Street.
Police said the victim, who was known to the accused, received a stab wound to his hand that required treatment at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
The victim was treated and released while the accused was remanded into custody at the provincial correctional centre where he will remain until his next court appearance on Thursday.
The suspect also faces a breach of probation charge.
