Woman suing city councillor for allegedly running over her foot

Topics :

A Charlottetown city councillor who is being sued for allegedly running over a woman’s foot denies any wrongdoing.

Coun. Mitch Tweel filed his statement of defence on Jan. 25. It said the accident was caused by the plaintiff’s negligence or other fault and neglect.

Last month, Kelley Caseley filed a statement of claim alleging Tweel ran over and stopped on her foot with his car as she was crossing an intersection in Charlottetown.

Caseley claimed Tweel moved his car then drove her to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

He denied Caseley suffered any injuries and put it to her to prove that she did.

Tweel’s statement of defence listed six possible ways in which Caseley might have been negligent and caused injuries she may have suffered.

They included that Caseley tried to cross the street where there wasn’t a crosswalk, she didn’t look both ways before crossing and crossed without regard to her own safety.

@mynameissue - Looks as though your driving logic is just good as your skills behind the wheel. I mean, honestly, who starts driving while their kid is still trying to get into the car. But I digress. Calling someone a "goofball" for getting their foot run over when crossing the road? You ever hear about pedestrian right-of-way? Maybe pick up a driver's manual and educate yourself. Then again, if you're running over your child's foot, it's no wonder why you defend others that run over people's feet.

I once accidently ran over my son's foot when he was trying to get into the back seat of the car, didn't hurt him (i stopped on his foot). eEasy enough to do if you think about it. Look both ways before crossing the road you goofball.

But he still ran over her foot!? How do you NOT get hurt after having a car run over your foot. Which intersection did the incident occur at? How did Tweel manage to get so incredibly close to someone's body. As a pedestrian myself I am quite sure I would see a car that close to me.

Why do the bizarre stories seem to follow Mitchell Tweel around ? It's almost like he can't stand being out of the spotlight for any length of time.
