The small back room at Back Alley Music on University Avenue in Charlottetown was literally jammed with music lovers Saturday as they listened to some great songs and stories while soup was served during the monthly Soupy Saturday held this year to coincide with the start of Music P.E.I Week.
The soup was prepared by chef Robert Pendergast and proceeds from the event will go to the Unison Benevolent Fund which is a non-profit organization that provides counselling, emeregency relief and benefit programs for those in the Canadian music community who face personal or professional challenges due to hardships, illness, unemployment or economic dissiculties..
Music P.E.I Week ends Feb. 2 with the gala awards show in the Homburg Theatre in Charlottetown. During the week there will be concerts held in across the Island featuring all local talent.

That's an uninformed and stupid comment, Angelfish. If you read the article, you would see where the funds go. If you bothered to inform yourself, you would know that Pat Deighan and the staff at Back Alley frequently run Soupy Saturdays, and proceeds go to very worthy organizations such as the food bank. In the process, they help support the local music scene, they raise funds and awareness for those those who need help locally, and they help build the community. What are you doing that's worthwhile?
