Downed trees in Brookfield caused a power outage this morning affecting parts of central P.E.I.

The power went out in Springvale, Wheatley River, Rustico, Cavendish, Stanley Bridge, New London, French River, Granville and Hunter River areas before 11 a.m.

Approximately 5,600 customers were affected.
