The wind was gusting to almost 50 kilometres per hour Wednesday causing blowing snow and whiteouts across the province that resulted in numerous accidents. The snow was whipping around these barns on the Kingston Road and two horses were standing in a field with their backs to the wind. Between the winds and blowing snow the temperature was minus 15 Celsius. Thursday the wind will be gusting to 40 kilometres per hour and temperatures around minus six Celsius.

That's my dad's barn, but not his horse. She was in fact inside the barn. We've always believed we lived in the windiest spot on the Island, now we know it's true!

That's top shelf journalism right there.

As long as the horses have access to shelter from the wind, they're fine. My horse was outside all day and he could have gone into the barn whenever he wanted.
