Brookvale opens Friday for downhill skiers

Cross-country skiers can hit the trails now

The recent snowfall and cold temperatures were the perfect recipe for Island skiers.

The Brookvale Provincial Ski Park has opened its Nordic cross-country site.

According to the park’s Facebook site, they’re offering a two-for-one deal on trail tickets and ski rental packages.

The cross-country portion of the park opened Tuesday. The alpine downhill run is opening on Friday and will be operational between 1:30 and 9:30 p.m.

“We need to make a bit more snow in the next couple of days and during that time we ask the public to refrain from the site to make sure we are able to do so,’’ park officials said on the Facebook site.

If any provincial park should be closed it is Brookvale. A Liberal make-work project in the classic definition of the term.

  Clearly you have never been to Brookvale to see what dedicated staff they actually have and are speaking from your lazy boy. With a country whose population is steadily increasing their health care costs perhaps you should be more open minded and actually use the facilities at Brookvale before you post such an uniformed opinion.
