Maritime Electric has restored power to the approximate 800 customers in Charlottetown's east end who found themselves in the dark Saturday afternoon.

A spokesperson with Maritime Electric said about 20 customers were affected by a power outage caused by high winds around 12 noon.

By 1 p.m., that number climbed to 800 customers.

The company sent out two trucks to determine the cause of the outage and had power restored later in the afternoon.

I hope it didn't interupt a very important Liberal dinner yesterday...that would have been awful.....The esteemed Chretien might have thought things were really as bad as they are right now on PEI and he might not be tempted to believe the lies Ghiz is no doubt going to try and feed him on his abilities to cover up this current state of affairs the Liberals have found themselves in. One way or the other I suppose he would be "FED" I will go back to not worrying about it....
