A 30-year-old Charlottetown area man is facing assault charges following an incident in the capital city Monday.

Charlottetown Police Services responded to the assault complaint at an address on Passmore Street.

As a result, police arrested the 30-year-old area male. He is charged with assaulting a 41-year-old female.

Police say no appreciable injuries were sustained as a result of assault.

The accused will be appearing in Provincial Court at a later date.

Police responded to three separate motor vehicle collisions last weekend.

On Sunday, police were dispatched to a collision on MacRae Drive and arrested a 64-year-old Charlottetown area man for impaired driving.

That evening, police responded to a collision on the arterial highway and as a result arrested a 64-year-old woman, who was later charged with impaired driving.

Also on Sunday, police were dispatched to an address on St. Peters Road following a collision.

Police arrested a 59-year-old Charlottetown area man for impaired driving.

Two passengers in the car received minor injuries.
