PROSE treatment

Here is a look at the PROSE treatment Paul Morrison will undergo at the Boston Foundation for Sight in hopes of restoring his sight.

• Treatment takes about four to 12 days to complete with patients typically spending seven to eight hours at the clinic.

• Patients are encouraged to bring a family member (Morrison’s mother, Marion, is making the trip).

• The treatment process includes designing, fabricating and fitting multiple trial devices, each step followed by a wearing session, in order to achieve the best fit possible.

• The treatment process also includes at least three training sessions in the care of prosthetic devices.
