The Charlottetown Airport Authority is advising travellers to check their flight status prior to arriving at Charlottetown Airport over the next few days.

"Previously announced runway improvement work to our intersection is now under way," says Doug Newson, Charlottetown Airport Authority's chief executive officer.

"Charlottetown Airport is open and operating as planned with some flight schedule adjustments. However, the inclement weather that is forecast for the next few days may result in additional flight schedule adjustments and cancellations. We ask the travelling public to check with their air carriers to see if any scheduled flights are delayed or cancelled."

The $3.5 million runway rehabilitation project began July 2 and is scheduled to be completed by mid-day Friday.
